From the founder

I've shipped a lot of interfaces. Marketing sites, SaaS dashboards, e-commerce storefronts. And in almost every project, a third of the timeline disappeared into the same problem: building sections that should exist off the shelf.

Not because those sections were complex — they weren't. A good hero takes an afternoon. A pricing table takes a day. But multiply that across every new project, every new team, every new design system, and you're looking at weeks of work that doesn't move your product forward.

blockus is my answer to that. Not a drag-and-drop tool. Not a component library you install and depend on forever. Just files — files that look exactly like the code your team writes, that you own the moment they land in your repo.

I'm proud of every block in this catalog. If you find one that doesn't meet that bar, tell me. I'll fix it.

A record in five years.

2018

The side project

One file. One hero section. Shared to a private Slack channel and promptly forgotten. The idea that it could become a catalog came two years later.

2020

First commercial license

A Berlin agency needed twelve sections for a product launch and had three weeks. They paid for a custom build. That contract funded the first three months of development time.

2022

The architecture question

Every internal project had diverged. Tokens, naming conventions, component boundaries — none of it aligned. The rebuild started from semantics outward, not from components inward.

2023

Registry as product

The insight was simple: if the blocks could be installed the same way as a shadcn primitive, adoption would follow the same path. The registry endpoint launched in March.

2024

blockus v1

Over a hundred sections. A Pro tier. A Tailwind v4 token system. And a catalog page that still loads in under two seconds with no client-side JS on the critical path.
